Lamezia: Italy’s underrated gateway to the south

Way down near the toes of Italy’s boot is Lamezia Terme, Calabria’s most important airport and entry point to one of the more overlooked parts of the country. The area’s beaches and undiscovered countryside are beginning to get some attention though, so bel paese travellers looking for roads less travelled shouldn’t leave visiting this area too late.
