Montreal, June 19, 2018 — It is with great pleasure that Air Transat invites Canadians to discover the myriad charms of London and its surrounding areas. The vibrant megalopolis is always a popular destination among Canadians, with its fascinating mix of traditions and trends. And thanks to daily direct flights from Toronto and Vancouver and departures from Montreal, Calgary and Quebec to London Gatwick Airport, Air Transat is making the capital of the UK very accessible this summer.
“This year, Air Transat is once again raising the bar with the frequency of its flights to London, with 37 weekly departures at the height of summer, including 22 direct flights and 15 with connecting flights,” said Annick Guérard, Chief Operating Officer at Transat.
Air Transat gives Canadians the opportunity to travel to London year-round. The city boasts diversity, museums and palaces and can easily be visited on foot or by bus, tube or boat. Travellers enjoy its historic monuments, boutiques, parks, squares, coffee shops and pubs.
London travel tips
Transat invites anyone curious to learn more about London to discover the city through the eyes of Emanuel (Supervisor, Sales and Services at Air Transat), who has a passion for travel. Emanuel knows the city quite well, having spent some years there. He shares some of his favourite spots with viewers in an inspiring video series. His personal tour includes Truefitt & Hill, the oldest barbershop in the world, Columbia Road Flower Market and afternoon tea at Barbican Conservatory.
To find out more about other travellers’ take on London, readers are invited to check out Experience Transat, a blog by and for globetrotters eager to explore new places.
Travellers are invited to join the conversation
For those looking for more London travel tips, Air Transat will be hosting a discussion on Friday, June 22, at noon (EDT), on its Facebook Page. Emanuel will be interviewed by travel blogger Tamara Elliott and will be available to answer questions about the destination. Marie‑Ève, another Air Transat employee, will also be sharing Europe travel tips, but for the city of Lisbon.
An array of flight options
This summer, Air Transat will be offering daily direct flights to London from Toronto and Vancouver. There will be six weekly flights from Montreal and Calgary, including three direct flights. As for Quebec City, there will be one flight per week, via Montreal.
Air Transat also has multi-destination option, allowing travellers to land in one European city and return from another at no extra cost. This opens up a range of itinerary possibilities and lets people combine several destinations, such as London and Manchester, without having to backtrack.
All Europe-bound passengers are in for an unparallelled inflight experience with Air Transat, named Best North American Leisure Airline six years in a row. The cabin comfort, free hot meals on transatlantic flights, including in Economy Class, personal entertainment system accessible via individual touch screens or Air Transat’s mobile app as well as an attentive crew are just some of the reasons why flying Air Transat is so enjoyable.
