Montreal, January 31, 2017 – Transat invites travellers in search of adventure, authenticity and a change of scenery to explore Martinique and Saint Lucia differently by watching the four latest episodes of the Travel Basecamp web series.
“Travel Basecamp inspires us to travel differently, by taking the road less travelled and getting to know different destinations through their local culture and customs,” says Geneviève LeBrun, Vice-President of Marketing at Transat Tours Canada. “This series encourage travellers to treat their resorts as a basecamp and enjoy unique experiences.”
The four episodes begin in Martinique, where the Basecampers welcome Bradley, a new member who joins them on an adrenaline-fueled sailboat race. In the second episode, they get to experience a traditional carnival by immersing themselves in the destination’s festive and enchanting atmosphere. On the magnificent island of Saint Lucia, a horseback riding excursion through the tropical jungle and a volcanic mud bath at the Qualibou Volcano are followed by a visit to the picturesque market in Castries, as well as a tasting of spicy and colourful Caribbean cuisine in the company of a local chef!
Travel Basecamp is an exclusive reality style documentary series developed by Transat, in partnership with Lacroix & Heroes. Each inspiring video series provides an exciting and exhilarating slate of adventures, introducing curious travellers to a range of destinations in the Caribbean and Central America. Since the launch of the series, Travel Basecamp has enabled travellers to discover Honduras, Jamaica, Cuba (Santa Lucia, Camaguey, Varadero, Havana, Cayo Guillermo and Cayo Santa Maria), the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana and Santo Domingo), Mexico (Cancun, Riviera Maya and Merida) and Panama.
