Montreal, September 29, 2016 – Transat invites vacationers seeking adventure and a change of scenery to discover the South in a different way this winter. It offers travellers flexible, off-the-beaten-path vacation options this season that add authenticity to a holiday, with opportunities for cultural immersion and exploring a region, so they can return home with plenty of stories to tell!
In addition to its all-inclusive and à la carte hotels, Transat now features even more home and apartment rentals. Be it for one week or several months, experiencing the local lifestyle and feeling at home when abroad is an idea that will appeal to many.
Other discovery-oriented travel options include cruise packages in the Caribbean, which are a wonderful way to visit multiple destinations on the same trip, and guided tours in the South, allowing travellers to explore the many facets of countries like Cuba, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Combining stays in two different places, Transat's Experience Duo program is a great way to change it up while on holiday. These packages blend seaside relaxation and the discovery of a destination’s cultural, historical or natural attractions, offering the best of both worlds!
As appealing as it is to spend most of a trip basking on a sun-drenched beach, venturing outside the resort to explore the surroundings and countryside can really spice up a vacation. Transat offers a wide selection of excursions, particularly cultural and aquatic activities, as well as nights out. There is something for everyone!
Air Transat will operate direct flights to 35 destinations in the South from 22 Canadian cities during winter. One hundred and thirty-eight routes, 12 of which are new, will be available to Canadians, like San Salvador (El Salvador) from Montreal, Roatan (Honduras) from Quebec City, Cartagena (Colombia), Managua (Nicaragua) and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) from Toronto, and Los Cabos (Mexico) from Vancouver.
Transat was recently named best tour operator for the third consecutive year at the 17th annual Agents’ Choice Awards, organized by Canadian Travel Press, Travel Courier and TravelPress.com. Air Transat was also voted Best North American Leisure Airline at the Skytrax annual World Airline Awards in July 2016, in addition to placing third among the top customer-oriented airlines, after Porter and KLM, according to a recent survey carried out by Protégez-Vous among Quebec consumers.
