Montreal, Qc, Canada, March 1, 2006
An extra perk is coming aboard every Air Transat flight. Starting this March, Canada’s No. 1 vacation carrier is introducing a sharp new quarterly magazine, Atmosphere, which will be made available to Air Transat’s 2.5 million travelers.
“Air Transat is pleased to offer a complimentary new magazine, Atmosphere, which will be crafted by a top editorial team in French and in English,” says Allen B. Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer, Air Transat. “Each issue will be filled with informative pieces, such as profiles on exotic destinations to consumer gadget reviews, which are sure to enhance the leisure of Air Transat flights for our passengers.”
For its debut issue, Atmosphere features an assortment of topical subjects: food reviews (Jerk, the spicy dried meats of Jamaica), a story on child-friendly vacations (Costa Rica’s breathtaking volcanoes) and profiles on destinations of choice (i.e. the Dominican Republic’s sun-kissed beaches). At 100 pages, Atmosphere also includes personality profiles on figures such as Montreal native Jean-François Roy, a Université du Québec à Montréal MBA graduate, who has transformed himself into a Florida-based real-estate developer and philanthropist.
About 50,000 copies of Atmosphere will be published every three months and made available in the seatbacks of Air Transat’s fleet . Atmosphere will be written by a team of seasoned journalists from across three continents, translated into French in Quebec and published by Miami-based Business Class Media.
“Travel is one of life’s great pleasures and the introduction of Atmosphere magazine is a sure way to enhance the Air Transat flight experience,” says Peter Mansfield, Publisher of Atmosphere. “This new magazine is written for and by holiday seekers. Atmosphere truly belongs to its readers. That’s why we encourage feedback from travelers to ensure Atmosphere remains an informative and entertaining read for Air Transat passengers.»
