Canadian Affair has been voted “Best Tour Operator to Canada” at the annual British Travel Awards.
The UK’s largest tour operator to Canada topped a poll of the British public to win the prestigious award.
Kathryn Munro, Canadian Affair’s Communication & Marketing Director, says: “We are thrilled to have received this accolade. As a direct sell tour operator, we appreciate this more as this award is voted for by the British travelling public - our customers. We strive to always offer the best value flights and holidays to Canada, and we’re delighted that so many UK travellers have endorsed this with their votes.”
The award comes shortly after Canadian Affair unveiled its summer 2011 programme with more flight seats and holiday options than ever before. The company has added 18% more capacity for next summer, and will be flying from seven UK airports – Gatwick, Heathrow, Exeter, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow to seven Canadian cities – Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax and Edmonton.
Canadian Affair also has an extensive winter programme, offering skiers more choice than ever, with flights from Gatwick and Manchester to Calgary and Vancouver from just £298 return (incl. taxes) and 7-night holiday packages from just £499pp.
The British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “The British Travel Awards are widely considered to be the “Oscars” of the travel industry. It’s the largest awards programme in the UK, created to reward travel companies with the winning accolade being the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business of travel for the UK consumer. This year, more than any, the competition was fierce and Canadian Affair is to be congratulated on their achievement.”
Companies were nominated by travel industry professionals before being voted for by the British public. In 2009 over 100,000 votes were cast with the results scrutinised and audited by Deloitte LLP.
