Waste reduction

For us, the best waste is that which is not generated, which is why the Company continues to enhance its responsible procurement practises and its waste reduction initiatives across our operations, particularly with regards to food waste and single-use plastics.

  • In our offices

    2019, Transat received the Performance + recognition from the ICI on recycle + program for its Montreal head office. Valid for a period of three years, this certification illustrates our efforts to ensure the responsible management of our waste.

  • In our planes

    Since 2019, thanks to a close collaboration with our suppliers, we have been able to conduct a comprehensive assessment of our products on board and remove several single-use plastic items. We have notably eliminated plastic straws, utensils cups on our flights. Eventually, some 12 million plastic glasses will be replaced each year.

  • Responsible procurement

    Transat knows that every action counts in reducing its impact on the environment. To reinforce its commitment, Transat has adopted a Responsible Sourcing Policy and a Supplier Code of Conduct.
